Accomplishments

In its first year on the Havenscourt campus (2006-07), CCPA's goal was to create a learning environment that set the stage for significant academic growth. To that end, our immediate focus was building a positive school culture in which students felt safe on campus. Based on the results of our "Use Your Voice" survey, we feel we're definitely on the right track. In 2006-07:

• Parent satisfaction rose to 94% -- up 30% from the previous year on this campus
• 72% of students felt safe at school – an increase of more than 40%
• Attendance rate went up to 93.5%
• Suspensions were reduced considerably

2007-08 has already seen a number of milestones as well. To name just a few:

• Our salad bar is up and running, offering our kids healthy lunch alternatives.
• The U.N.I.T.Y. extended-day program is in full swing, offering our students diverse after-school activities
  from English and math support to a range of extracurricular electives such as martial arts, gardening,
  hip-hop dance, animation, and leadership
